The intent of this presentation is to educate healthcare staff on the recommended protocols for pandemic influenza preparedness and emergency response in healthcare facilities. It discusses how the influenza virus can quickly mutate and spread across the world, infecting large populations. The program outlines in detail the recommended steps in a preparedness plan in the healthcare facility, using recommendations from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), and World Health Organization (WHO).
