Infection Prevention Issues in Ambulatory Care
This program provides a comprehensive overview of an infection prevention program specific to the ambulatory care setting. It provides training for infection preventionists and other interested healthcare workers on surveillance and isolation precautions as recommended by CDC for ambulatory care facilities. It also covers topics such as prevention of surgical site infection, multi-drug resistance, environmental cleaning, bloodborne pathogens, tuberculosis, safe injection practices, and more. The program takes into consideration CDC guidelines, OSHA regulations, and other current standards of practice.
The program comes on a CD-Rom in Microsoft PowerPoint, and is accompanied by a packet of supplemental materials that include:
- An introduction that states the program’s goals and objectives, and gives the presenter a few guidelines for presenting the program
- Hard copies of all handouts
- A written competency assessment
- An answer key for the competency assessment
- A presenter’s program evaluation that you may fill out to let us know your thoughts and ideas on the program
- A certificate of completion that you may give to each of your participants upon completion of the program
