Bloodborne Pathogens: Preventing Occupational Exposures This booklet contains an overview of the OSHA-regulated training for prevention of transmission of bloodborne pathogens. It includes information on the pathogens of highest concern, safe use of sharps, and post-exposure procedures. Includes a 2-page “Fact and Fiction about Bloodborne Pathogens” section to highlight the more common misconceptions about these pathogens.

Pandemic Influenza: Preparedness in the Healthcare Facility This program focuses on preparedness in the event of an influenza pandemic. It gives an overview of the definition of a pandemic as well as how the influenza virus mutates to become a pandemic virus. It also goes over some of the recommended preparedness measures so healthcare staff will be ready to assist wherever possible. Special emphasis is given to CDC’s “Cough Etiquette” or respiratory hygiene program, to healthcare workers’ getting their regular flu season immunizations, and to the proper use of PPE. This program has been written so that it is appropriate for staff in all departments, although the emphasis is on the clinical caregiver.
- Tuberculosis: Understanding the Disease and its Prevention
This booklet provides OSHA-required training to healthcare workers on tuberculosis, with information about the disease, its signs and symptoms, prevention, and exposures. The booklet comes with a competency assessment to measure your participants’ comprehension of the material covered.
