This series of educational handout booklets can be used for your employee education program in lieu of having scheduled orientation meetings. Simply hand your employees a booklet which they can then read on their own time. The books are easy to understand and enhanced by attractive illustrations.

This booklet contains an overview of the OSHA-regulated training for prevention of transmission of bloodborne pathogens. It includes information on the pathogens of highest concern, safe use of sharps, and post-exposure procedures. Includes a 2-page “Fact and Fiction about Bloodborne Pathogens” section to highlight the more common misconceptions about these pathogens.

Pandemic Influenza: Preparedness in the Healthcare Facility
This program focuses on preparedness in the event of an influenza pandemic. It gives an overview of the definition of a pandemic as well as how the influenza virus mutates to become a pandemic virus. It also goes over some of the recommended preparedness measures so healthcare staff will be ready to assist wherever possible. Special emphasis is given to CDC’s “Cough Etiquette” or respiratory hygiene program, to healthcare workers’ getting their regular flu season immunizations, and to the proper use of PPE. This program has been written so that it is appropriate for staff in all departments, although the emphasis is on the clinical caregiver.
